2.subreg 2020 and probably the worst conditions of spread I've experienced
Participation in the second sub-region has long been threatened, but in the end we managed to participate in advance, but we better stay home…
Our participation has been threatened for a whole month, because the last time we managed to smoke the entrance on 2m radio. So we prayed all month, so that the repair first succeeds at all and then catches up by the first weekend of May. But Honza OM7OA overtook everything and repaired the radio on the unit. So he deserves the main thanks, that we could be QRV at all. Thanks again Honzo.
What about the race itself. A bunch of new radio amateurs, who were in rehearsals in Banská Bystrica in February already have papers, so we invited our friend Joža OM7AHJ from Veľký Krtíš to the race.. Na Drawing to má iba na skok. Around 11 o'clock we met at the agreed place and set off the last few meters to the elevation.

I usually do a photo report from the race, but Jože has a camera with me, so this time he did a short video. Pleasant watching.
Jožo stayed until about 9 pm and then went home, well, we worked with Cyr OM7AAC. Cyrko was doing me ketering, coffee, wine, etc.. The conditions were entirely up to fig. Of the long connections, only one Italian succeeded. The biggest competition Filip OM6ABF from Mala Fatra had a lead soon 100 qso and that's really enough.
Skedy, which regularly come out normally now have not gone at all, I heard the Italians, but they me at all. I pissed it off and went back halfway through the night.
I wanted to continue the morning before seven, but the situation repeated itself. There was practically no one to connect with. I tuned along the band, sometimes I was so desperate, that I also gave challenges but the connections increased as in the summer on a sled. I announced, that I'm going to pack it and that we're probably packing it and going home. Cyro was extremely pleased and already started packing in his mind. But I wanted to round the number of connections, so I broadcast. All the flashlights also slowly discharged, what we had. I rounded the number of connections, he turned on his already beaten laptop for a moment and found out, that we have 37.000 points and so I told Cyr, that we will 40.000 and we pack. He rolled his eyes and kept broadcasting. The last flashlight has already died, which we rotated the antennas and so we left them turned on OK1 and we searched and gave challenges. Around lunch it started a bit and when we already had approx 40.000 new and new kua kua stations began to report at that time, just then. I have no idea when they were until then… In the end, however, we definitely switch off and pack around the second one. Post-race evaluation – worst VHF conditions, as I personally remember…we better stay home, but go cook to your brother-in-law the goulash, ach…

In the end, the connection map didn't look so bad. It has been confirmed, that all directions go from Čerťaž. Just, that they were absolutely far away now. Only four Germans together, one Italian, one Bulgarian, no Ukrainian…I really don't remember this.
When all stations posted logs, I already understood, that it didn't go well for everyone. I was scared, whether it was a broken radio, but it was not. The conditions were simply very bad and did not accept long connections at all. I have NEVER had an average of less than 300 km / qso from Čerťaže. Now we barely had it first 100, then it turned out on 200 and we ended up on 232. Well, let me tell you, poverty, poverty, poverty…
Hearings under better conditions.
